Beyer Mech an Intacct to Intuit Enterprise Suite Project with over 1,000,000 Transactions with complex Class, Customer/Job structures converted to History and Production IES Accounts.
Broadway Building merge four QBO Accounts into two new Intuit Enterprise Suite Accounts with full Transaction History.
A.S. Storage US split one QBO US Account into three separate Intuit Enterprise Suite Accounts using Department/Location Codes to filter/split full Transaction History.
From automated transactional repairs to smart list-scrubbing rules that protect your historical integrity, we ensure your data is perfectly optimized for day-one accuracy.
Migrating to Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) requires a solid, structurally sound data foundation. For businesses with intricate accounting histories, a standard data transfer isn't always enough.
Whether your corporate restructure requires dividing a legacy file, consolidating multiple subsidiaries, or rescuing corrupted financial records, our specialized pre-migration engineering ensures your data is clean, compliant, and optimized.
Restructure account numbers, names, and hierarchies using a detailed set of guidelines provided by CSC.

Learn more →Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) is built from the ground up on a structured, numeric Chart of Accounts. To prevent data corruption and system failures during your transition, we clean and optimize your source data prior to migration. Our standardization process guarantees that your data is fully prepared to leverage IES's advanced features.
IES utilizes a Shared Chart of Accounts architecture. It matches and syncs corporate financial data across your parent company and subsidiaries using the exact account number, preventing broken ties caused by minor typos or naming variations.
For the system to automatically trigger and balance “Due To/Due From” transactions across entities without manual intervention, it relies on identical, immutable account numbers to map the ledger entries safely.
IES uses built-in AI tools to scan transaction trends and automate bookkeeping. The system routes data based on strict numerical ranges (10000s–70000s); any text-only name lacking a number flags a critical system error.
IES uses Dimensions instead of messy, deeply nested subaccounts to track departments or regions. To slice reports by project or location, the database requires a clean, static account number to act as the primary structural anchor.
Because IES follows strict GAAP accounting rules, you must restructure your account numbers, names, and hierarchies using a detailed set of guidelines provided by CSC before finalizing the Chart of Account restructuring process.
Adopt a standardized 4- or 5-digit numbering system based on the account type.
IES requires clear visibility into Gross Margin. Separate your core production costs from standard overhead:
Labor Reclassification
Move direct labor (field staff, production workers) from standard Wages in Expenses to a dedicated COGS - Labor account.
Direct vs. Indirect Materials
Ensure all “Item” references point to COGS accounts for production materials, and Expense accounts for office/indirect supplies.
Project-Specific Costs
If a cost is directly attributable to a Job or Project, it must reside in the COGS section to support IES's advanced Project Profitability reports.
IES uses Dimensions (which replace and expand upon Classes) to handle detail, meaning you can significantly simplify your chart of accounts list.
Eliminate Departmental Accounts
Merge regional accounts (e.g., Marketing - West Coast and Marketing - East Coast) into a single Marketing Expense account. You will use Dimensions in IES to track the regions.
Limit Sub-account Depth
QuickBooks allows deep nesting, but IES reporting is most effective with a flatter COA (ideally 1–2 levels deep). Use Dimensions for any further granularity.
If you are leveraging IES for its multi-entity capabilities, your intercompany accounts must be pristine:
Standardized Intercompany Mapping
Create identical Due To/Due From accounts across all entities. IES uses these for automated intercompany eliminations during consolidation.
Shared Account Names
Ensure the Parent company and all subsidiaries use the exact same name and number for common accounts (e.g., use identical names instead of Main Checking vs Checking - Wells Fargo) to facilitate the Shared Chart of Accounts feature.
Uncategorized Cleanup
Completely empty your Uncategorized Income/Expense and Ask My Accountant accounts. IES's AI-driven tools will flag these as errors during the migration process.
Retained Earnings
Ensure prior-year adjustments are properly closed out to Retained Earnings so your IES opening balances match your last tax filing.
To align your legacy financial data with the multi-entity, dimension-driven database architecture of the Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES), this project includes dedicated professional consulting. A Data Conversion Tech will be assigned to your account to guide and execute the redesign of your Chart of Accounts (COA) and your corporate Class and Dimension Code list.
The target system will be configured to support a Calendar Year Fiscal Year structure, enabling your organization to successfully run Balance Sheet By Dimension Reports and P&L By Dimension Reports directly within IES.
Our team will extract, optimize, and convert multiple QuickBooks Enterprise (QBE) Company files into one or more unified IES Accounts. As part of this consolidation, we will manage the migration of your comprehensive Item List & Mapping, ensuring inventory and service items align perfectly with the target corporate ledger.
To optimize database performance and historical relevance, a data pruning rule will be enforced to delete all source QuickBooks transaction history prior your required source data cutoff date if requested.
To prevent legacy reporting errors from corrupting the new environment, our team will perform an intensive transactional remediation process. This project explicitly includes the identification and repair of the following transaction workflows during the migration to IES:
Core GL Entries
Journal Entries and Check/Expense Distributions fixes.
Purchasing & Payables
Vendor Bills, Vendor Credits, and Bill Payment Checks fixes.
Sales & Receivables
Customer Invoices, Credit Memos, and Receive Payments fixes.
Operational & Banking
Credit Card Charges & Credits fixes.
Sales Pipeline
Estimates transactions will be fully corrected and included in the IES migration.
Our team will execute a specialized AR/AP Account Balance Data Analysis to systematically discover and resolve long-standing ledger errors. This process specifically targets and fixes legacy QBE reporting glitches where the Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Customer/Vendor Balance Reports do not reconcile or match, ensuring perfect day-one reporting accuracy in IES.
To prevent “list bloat” while safeguarding historical general ledger integrity, specific data governance rules will be applied during the conversion:
All Inactive Customers will be temporarily flipped to Active status to safely migrate all historical transactions referencing them, then programmatically reset back to Inactive once the IES account is live. Inactive Jobs will be rolled up to their parent Customer accounts, preserving all transaction data before the inactive job records are deleted.
Legacy Customer/Job relationships will be structurally transformed into native IES Projects.
All Inactive Items will be substituted with a single, standardized default item named “Item Posting Account” to securely anchor all associated historical transactions without cluttering your new item list.
All Inactive Employees will be preserved. To accommodate system structural differences, legacy Employee Payroll Check transactions will be converted into Standard Bank Checks while fully retaining all original deductions, wages, and general ledger distributions.
A strict purge rule will be enforced to completely delete all Inactive Vendor list items and erase any historical transactions that reference those inactive vendors.
